Donating is supporting
The Poway Unified School District appreciates school-community cooperation to support our various athletic programs. California law does not allow school districts to charge fees to students for curricular and extracurricular activities. Most schools like Del Norte HS can no longer afford to fund many of our athletic programs and activities. Therefore, we are asking for voluntary donations from parents to offset the costs of these athletic programs. Parents are not required to make donations and all students may participate in extracurricular activities regardless of whether a donation is made.
Students who participate in athletic programs are encouraged to support a voluntary one-time sports program donation each season. This amount varies by sport and helps cover the cost of bus transportation, uniforms, equipment, coaches, and tournaments for the year.
